We flew from Phoenix to New York on August 29th. We travel light,
only one small carry-on each. That way we didn't have to worry
about waiting for baggage claim at each destination (not to
mention the possibility of having our bags lost).
We spent the next day walking around Manhattan (including Central
Park) and sampled some of the culinary delights the city had
to offer.
We also visited Ground Zero (the World Trade Center site), it was
quite crowded (and there was a lot of construction going on).
In SoHo we ended up going to a theater in the middle of the day and
we heard the underground rumbling beneath us throughout the movie
- an interesting experience!
In some way, though, the New York visit was just a time spent waiting
for one of the biggest highlights of the entire trip - the flight
on the Concorde.
