In 2002 we acquired 85 acres in the Crossroads Ranch
subdivision north of Prescott, and in May 2003 we broke ground on our little cabin / observatory.
Over time the cabin grew a bit and it took over 3 years to finish the project. It didn't take us
long to realize that the house was way too big and fancy for our needs, though, and after years
of trying to sell we finally lowered the price far enough to conclude a sale in December 2017.
A staggeringly huge financial hit, but we're glad it's behind us. Think carefully before building
a dream house (esp. in an area of the country that you don't know all that well) ...
